Some more details needed:
What exactly happens when you try to view files - do you get an error message,
if yes, what does the error message say ?
Does this happen with any kind of file - even plain text-files (*.txt), when
you hit the 'V'iew key, or, for instance, only with grahpics files
(*.gif, *.bmp, etc.), or anything else ?

Yes, this looks like your XTree is running out of memory, read the respective
Tips'n'Tricks articles about this common problem (see link below).
