Many thanks for making it easier on us non-programmers.

It's nice to have an advanced XTree clone that uses expanded memory under DOS! It's a good thing, too, because I haven't figured out how to set the startup logging method to "Root Only." So every time I start it it logs all ~38,000 files (3+gigs) on that disk!

> Admittedly there are some features missing compared to XTreeGold (for example: Treespec), but on the other hand FileMaster is prepared to cooperate with many new external archive tools, like RAR, for example. That's where FileMaster surprisingly is very similar to ZTree's flexibilty !

Sounds terrific! But, I'm afraid my ignorance of the German language is hampering me a great deal from fully using this wonderful program. The Help File looks very interesting, but again I'm lost. An English guide to FMSetup would be a great help. Then, perhaps someday, a translation of the Help File.

> ... I talked to one of the authors of the program, and he told me develoment has been ceased with version 3.0 in 1996, actually, 3.1 from 1997 has no functional difference except the removed Shareware reminder screens, because they changed distribution policy to Freeware.

<:-( Sorry to hear we can't contribute improvement ideas to help FileMaster continuously evolve as Ztree is doing. But, thanks for remembering us when you found this, Mathias.
