Windows 98 and xtreelink

I have a friend who is using xtreelink(1.0) to transfer some
lotus wk1 files from a DOS based 386 system to a
Windows system. He just upgraded the system receiving the
files to Windows 98 and it no longer works.
I took a quick peak at it and it seems to acknowledge the
drives on the remote system, but fails to do any kind
of transfer work. It fails with either a "Communication timeout"
(which happens quickly) or a Communication Reply problem.
It reacts the same whether I run from a dos shell from within
windows 98 or if I boot straight to dos.

Any help???? or direction to someone who might be able to?

It worked fine when the one computer was running windows 3.1.
I didn't look but I assume they have the latest DOS running
with the Windows 98.

Compensation available for time.
