Depends. Did you actually install Xtree into the ROOT directory? In other words, the files are in the same directory as AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, etc.? (typing "C:\XTGOLD.COM" would run xtree in this case).

If so, you need to be careful about how many files you have in the root directory. (I know there was a limitation with FAT, but I'm not sure about FAT32) You could only have so many files in the root directory and then it ran out of available entries.

If that is the case, I'd recommend installing into a subdirectory like C:\XTGOLD\XTGOLD.COM (Mathias - did XTGOLD.COM exist in 2.5 days?)

Better, yet, like Mathias said, use Ztree - it's better, and is made to run on all versions of Windows 95 and up (98, NT, 2000, etc.).
