This site is Great and has caused me to look deeper into XtreeGold 3.01 for some features I've never used!!
.
Here's one:
What is the difference between using the Open and the eXecute Director/File Commands? ...and while we're at it between Alt-Open and Alt-eXecute?
.
I see that Open uses the EXE.BAT COM.BAT and BAT.BAT files whereas the eXecute goes to a quasi-DOS prompt. But WHY would someone choose to use one of these four methods over the other? I see three of the methods end with "Strike any key..." but eXecute returns directly to the "prompt" without the message. big deal!
.
I remember from older versions that Alt-eXecute freed up more memory to run a program and when finished I had to re-log the directories. But testing all four operations just now, I see no meaningful discernable differences.
.
