From your response, Walter, I assume you agree WE NEED a different color?

My thought here was to imitate XTree as much as possible. XTree de-emphasized the base path by making it lower case, so I suggested using the Inactive color to do the same thing. I would also suggest, however, that the default Inactive color be changed to white, (not bright white). Also, since at some point the Inactive color will go away, this color could be dedicated to this purpose and the user could chose the preferred partial color.

However, ANY color difference would work, as long as we can see the partial path. Your suggested colors would be fine with me.
