No, not at all. Thanks for taking the time to respond (Walter & Mathias). I was unaware there was a difference between eXecute and ALT-eXecute in ZTree.

With Xtree Gold, eXecute used available memory, and ALT-eXecute used all memory (under 640k).

As this feature is irrelevant with ZTree, being a Windows 32-bit application, I didn't look at 'X' vs 'ALT-X' very closely.

I sometimes run an application using 'X' e.g the Windows calculator CALC.EXE - and it has to be closed before control of the ZTree window can be re-gained; but with 'ALT-X' it work fine.
