Nope, I don't like it -- Awkward, it is a "toggle" type key (have to hit it again to back out, not just release it), and I'm not sure where else it is used... Don't actually have "hold down" the shift, just make sure shift is pressed when you hit a key (I think we have mostly killed the release/re-press of the shift key breaking a sequence of navigation keys...).
