Yep, I agree in the directory window the "\" works fine the way it is.

But Walter has a good point on the Shift-Letter in the file window. I've often thought this would be nice, but it's got to be simple.

Kim, is it possible to detect whether the Shift key is *continuously* held down, (vs. released and pressed again)?

If so, I'd like to see it work as follows:

If the Shift key is not released, treat the following letters as part of one name. If it is released and depressed again, the letter is the beginning of a name. This would probably require a configuration option, as many XTree/ZTree users might not like it that way. But I would switch to it! I usually know the name I'm looking for, so repeating the beginning letter is not as useful to me as continuing to enter the name.

This would need more definition yet. Just asking if it's feasible.
