One other thing you might consider is that, at least for my setup, you can disconnect from the net WITHOUT exiting your browser -- Just right click on the connection icon in the tray and select disconnect... With my setup, it automatically reconnects when it has to, so one can read a message and compose while off-line, and it reconnects automatically when you "post"...

My setup is W95 OSR 2.1 (works with NT4/SP3 too) and Netscape 4.05 Prof.
I think IE4 does the same thing, but I avoid it so I don't know. -- Walter
