Sorry I have only been lurking in these recent threads, but somebody pointed out an old XTPro function that is still hidden in XTreeGold (with the /XT switch) and appears to be something similar to this request.
Try this - (XTree /XT) highlight a directory and hit Shift-Delete!
(It's quite safe )

Are you aware of the inbuild "CLIP:" 'device'? Try gathering to CLIP:
after pressing the second time.
