XTree Forum Suggestions

Hi Mathias!

In recent discussions with you and Dan I found it was very easy for us to wander off the named subject into all sorts of other topics. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I am trying to start new threads on these other subjects so the title will better reflect what we're talking about, and will be easier to find for future reference, (in case anyone cares!).

The point is that this can quickly create lots of messages, and rapidly push even recent postings off the top 100. I'm surprised to see how far down some recent messages have already gone. Perhaps you might want to increase it to the top 200? I guess the down side is that it will take longer to initially see the page, especially with slower modems. But with my 56K, (actually usually 41 - 44K), connection, it loads quite fast, and I think 200 would be fine. (Being graphics free really makes a difference!)

---------------------------------------
Another suggestion would be to make it clear on Kim's Links page that the XTree Fan Page is also for ZTree discussion. I realize that you are covering all XTree products and their clones, and this is a great service! You also want to keep XTree as your name, since it will attract XTree users who never heard of ZTree, and will help those who are still working with those products. But if your banner on the links page also included something like, "Also for ZTree Users", or something to that effect, people like me might not so quickly overlook it.

---------------------------------------
And lastly, I think it would be helpful if you put a link to your archive at the top of the page. To "Post a New Message | Search / Personalize Display", add "See Archived Postings". At the top of the Archive page add "See Current Postings".

Regards,
John
