When a file is opened WebDrive caches the file locally. When doing a DOS copy, the file is opened to check for existence and then prompts the user for overwrite. I suppose I could not cache it locally until a actual read/write came in, this way the prompt would occur before file transfer. I will look into adding this, it doesn't sound too tough, the only thing I'm concerned about is if I can't copy the file for some reason, then returning an error from a seek or read command may behave differently than returning an error from the open call (IFS is very finicky about where and how to return erros).

On the CHMOD issues, WebDrive accomplishes this by sending a SITE specific command through the FTP interface. I thought about making a command line utility when I first implemented this but decided not to for schedule reasons. I may add one, it's not too tough.
