Well, there *is* an XTree-clone for Linux, called "ytree", you probably have seen it already listed on the XTFP-"Shareware Clones"-page (or refer to the link given below).
I've had the chance to test it, it is indeed a good emulation of the XTree handling to the Unix/Linux-world.
Have a try and report your experiences here!
