Hi All.
I am Xtree & Ztree user, both are fantastic. I have tried the Win95 "directcable" to connect two PCs and thus have the long file names... It works (via Win95, not Ztree or Xtree), but I found the configuraton process a "little complicated" due it requires protocols to be installed in both computers, etc... A real pain, and I HATED! Also, (when/if it works) the directcable application offer few options, just the minimum resonable to transfer files. etc.
I latter found the best solution is the LAPLINK software which is very simple to install, (parallel or serial connection), practical and useful beside this is a Windows application not a DOS such as Xtree/Ztree. To move or copy files from one computer to another, just run the Laplink program. The software automatically detects if another computer is at the other end, so any necessary "protocol" is set automatically. You'll have then a window fast and objective to use. The Laplink also allow same connections via modems or via network. I loved!
