Sure! XTreeGold for DOS works just fine under WinME. The trick is to configure the "Disk Logging Method" to standard and the "Log Disk" commands to only read the root directory and to only read the directory tree. But it doesn't read long file names and it's memory is easily maxed out these days. It's also only occasionally available by auction at >>http://www.ebay.com since Symantec, the current XTree owners, no longer publishes it.

You really need ZTreeWin, *THE* XTree clone to use for modern Windows. Get a free evaluation copy, fully functional, from >>http://www.ZTREE.com and check out the beta versions also available there with LOTS more new features. And it's still being developed and supported. Also see the Unofficial ZTreeWin Homepage at >>http://www.vico1.com for more information and help.

ZTREE is today what XTREE could-a, would-a, should-a been if it hadn't been killed in a corporate takeover. See >>http://www.XTREE.com for more on this story from Jeffery C. Johnson, the inventor of XTREE.

Of course, there are "TONS" of information about XTREE and ZTREE right here on the XTREE FAN PAGE.
