Sure! I still use XTreeGold for DOS under WinME. The trick is to set it the "Log Disk" commands to only read the root directory and to only read the directory tree. Of course the drawbacks of not reading long file names and the limitation of only using 640K memory to read files is still there.

ZTreeWin is *THE* clone to use for modern Windows. Get a free evaluation copy, fully functional, from >http://www.ZTREE.com and check out the beta versions also available there with LOTS more features. And it's still being developed and supported. Also see the Unofficial ZTreeWin Homepage at >http://www.vico1.com for more information and help.

ZTREE is today what XTREE could-a, would-a, should-a been if it hadn't been killed in a corporate takeover. See >http://www.XTREE.com for more on this story from Jeffery C. Johnson, the inventor of XTREE.

Of course, there are "TONS" of information about XTREE and ZTREE right here on the XTREE FAN PAGE.
