First, check the first page of your XTreeGold configuration program
(ALT-F10 from Directory view (or run XTG_CFG.EXE))
entry #3 (Directories/Program path) should point to your actual
XTreeGold installation path; if not, this will be the reason
for the "Missing overlay" messages.

Then, check if you have the files "XTG_EDIT.XTP" and "XTG_VIEW.XTP" in
your XTreeGold installation path (see above); these are the respective
overlay files for editing and viewing tasks. In case they are missing
you have to reinstall XTreeGold from your distribution floppies.
